Improve the appearance of damaged or discoloured teeth with composite bonding in Leicester. A minimally invasive treatment that offers a long-lasting solution for minor dental imperfections.

Cosmetic bonding (or composite bonding) is a tooth-coloured resin applied directly onto an affected tooth which is then moulded to the exact shape and thickness required. The resin sets and hardens once a special light is applied onto it, which in turn bonds it to the natural tooth for a strong and durable finish.

The resin will be colour-matched to your teeth to ensure the most natural finish.

Composite bonding is used to correct a number of issues: from repairing decayed teeth, chipped or cracked teeth, to lengthen teeth or change their shape, to close gaps between teeth or to protect the tooth’s root if the gums recede.

It is a multi-purpose dental technique which is used due to its long list of benefits:

  • Corrects cosmetic imperfections
  • Strengthens damaged or decayed teeth
  • Tooth-coloured so it blends in with the natural teeth
  • Strong and long-lasting
  • Easy to care for and maintain
  • Minimally invasive as little or no preparation is required to the natural tooth
  • Can be completed in just one visit

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have composite bonding on more than one tooth?

Absolutely! Composite bonding is perfect for enhancing a single tooth or transforming your entire smile. During your initial consultation, we’ll work together to create the smile you’ve always wanted.

Does composite bonding hurt?

Not at all! That’s one of the reasons it’s so popular. Unlike other treatments, composite bonding doesn’t require removing any of your natural tooth enamel, ensuring a completely painless experience.

Is composite bonding reversible?

Yes, it is! If you decide you no longer like the look of your composite bonding, it can be easily removed without damaging your teeth. They’ll look just like they did before the treatment.

How do I care for my teeth after composite bonding?

While the composite material itself is resistant to bacteria and decay, your natural tooth underneath still needs care. Good oral hygiene is essential to maintain the longevity of your bonding. You might need occasional touch-ups, especially if you enjoy staining substances like tea or coffee. Regular dental check-ups will help us keep an eye on things.
