We’ve found that, in most cases, dental implants can be placed under a local anaesthetic, and many patients report this is more comfortable than having a tooth removed. The placement of implants is carefully planned prior to surgery, to ensure that nerves are avoided, as well as to place implants in the correct location to be able to withstand the forces generated by biting and chewing food.

Once your implants are in position, a healing period of a few months is usually required. During this time your implants will form a strong bond with your jaw bone, creating a very stable anchor on to which your dentist will then attach your new teeth.

Depending on your clinical needs, we may use crowns, a bridge, or dentures attached to your implants. Once in position these restorations will look and act just like natural teeth, meaning you are once again able to eat what you like, and smile with renewed confidence.
