BOTOX
What is botulinum toxin?
Botulinum toxin is a chemical produced by the botulinum bacterium. Botox is a protein derivative of the toxin, which when injected into a muscle, causes it to become weakened or inactivated. It stops the muscle from functioning by blocking the neuromuscular transmission, it stops the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle.
Botox is mainly suitable for the top third of the face. Around the eyes and forehead. It works by reducing the activity of the muscles which are responsible for the appearance of many facial lines.
The beneficial effects normally last between three and six months moreover repeated treatments can break the frowning habit to give longer lasting reduced facial lines.
The procedure is very simple and painless. Tiny amounts of Botox are injected directly into certain key facial muscles. During the course of the next three days the effect on the muscles will become apparent giving a maximum effect around two weeks later.

RESTYLANE
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a crystal clear gel form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. Hyaluronic acid holds water, hydrating and giving volume to the skin.
As we get older the production of our natural hyaluronic acids diminishes. A simple injection of Restylane replenishes the lost volume and improves your looks by enhancing your facial profile creating fuller lips and smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
Not suitable for pregnant, breastfeeding women or people who suffer from anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction).
The preferred treatment if the patient does not want Botox for the eye area.
